The story — or rather, the stories — of those “girls from Trieste” who left Trieste in the early 1950s to emigrate to the United States. At a very young age, they chose to follow a dream or a love. A documentary that portrays Trieste during those years and also the America those girls encountered — a personal diary recounting our recent history through the voices and images of some of its female protagonists, tracked down thanks to a photograph, a name, or some other small detail.
